Christina Applegate says she was misdiagnosed with MS and is now back to square one.

Key points
Christina Applegate, known for roles in Anchorman and Married... With Children, has revealed she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Applegate learned she did not have MS during a doctor’s visit in which her doctor said, 'Congratulations — you don’t have MS.' She said she was not happy at all and felt the news was 'unnerving' and 'really confusing.'
In a two-part episode of her podcast MeSsy, released on Tuesday, Applegate said she was 'back at square one' — unsure what is causing her debilitating symptoms. She described feeling worse since the diagnosis was reversed, noting she still uses wheelchairs for mobility.
Applegate had believed she had MS for five years. Around three years ago, her doctor suggested stopping her MS infusion treatment to see how her body responded. When symptoms did not improve, doctors reevaluated her case and concluded she did not have MS.

An investigation into the cause of her symptoms is set to begin next week. Applegate said she took a seven-month break from her podcast to process the news.
The revelation highlights the challenges of diagnosing chronic conditions and the emotional toll of medical misdiagnoses. Applegate has previously advocated for MS awareness, and this development raises questions about medical accuracy and patient care.
