Accessibility

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That's an ongoing effort, and we check new features as we build them.

What we do

• A “Skip to main content” link and clear headings on every page, for keyboard and screen-reader users.
• Text descriptions (alt text) for photos and graphics; charts also give their numbers as text.
• Readable text sizes and colours with enough contrast, in light and dark mode (following your device setting).
• Pages that work with keyboard only, and zoom up to 200% without losing content.
• Ad spaces that keep their size, so the page doesn't jump while you read.

Known limits

Some third-party content, such as ads and embedded material, may not be fully accessible. Video added in the future will carry captions.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on our site is hard to use, email [email protected] and tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within five working days, and can provide content in another format.
