About our news
What is Newyorkmatrix?
Newyorkmatrix is an independent news site covering US politics, business, technology, sports, health, entertainment, movies, music and social media, with major international news. Read more about us.
Is it free to read?
Yes. Every story is free to read, with no paywall and no account needed. The site is supported by advertising (see our advertising policy).
How do you make sure stories are accurate?
Facts, figures, names, dates and quotes are checked against their sources before publication, and important claims are confirmed by more than one independent source wherever possible. Stories on politics, crime, health and other sensitive subjects are approved by an editor. Our editorial policy and sourcing policy explain how.
Do you use AI to write stories?
Our newsroom uses AI tools to help research and draft some stories, movie guides, song guides and star profiles. Every story is checked automatically for accuracy and original wording, and an editor reviews and approves it before it is published. Nothing is published without a person approving it.
I found a mistake. How do I report it?
Email [email protected] with the page address and what is wrong. We correct errors promptly and note significant corrections at the end of the story. See our corrections policy.
Why do some stories say “Updated”?
When a story develops or we add new information, we update it and show when it was last updated, so you always know how current it is.
Movies, music and stars
What is a movie guide?
A movie guide covers a film's cast and characters, storyline (without spoilers), release dates, box office and production. Box office figures for newer films are refreshed every week. Browse them in Movies.
What is a song guide?
A song guide covers a track's artist, what it is about, how it was made, its release and video, credits and chart peaks. We never reproduce song lyrics. Browse them in Music.
Where do star profiles come from?
Our star profiles are written by our newsroom from public facts (birth date, films, songs and awards from open data) and reviewed by an editor. They cover careers, not gossip.
Who owns the posters and photos?
Photos are credited under each picture with their license. Film posters and cover art belong to their studios and labels; we show them small, only on the guide to that film or song, to identify it. See copyright.
