Our content

Stories, graphics and site design belong to Newyorkmatrix. You may share links and short quotes with credit; please don't republish whole stories without permission.

Our images

We record where every image comes from and its license:

  • Our own graphics and charts.
  • Public-domain images, such as official US government photos.
  • Openly licensed photos (Creative Commons), credited under each photo as the license requires.
  • Film posters in our movie guides: the official poster, shown small and only in the guide to that film, to identify the film we are writing about (fair use). Each is credited to its studio or distributor, and copyright stays with them.

We never use film stills or agency photos we have no license for, and never use AI-generated images as news photos.

Spotted a problem?

If you believe an image or text on our site is yours and is used without permission (for example, an image that was published with the wrong license, or a poster you would like removed), email [email protected] with the page address and the work concerned. We review every report promptly and remove material that shouldn't be here.

For corrections to our reporting, see our corrections policy.
